Learning

The Underley Garden School curriculum aims to provide opportunities for all pupils to learn and achieve.  We offer a broad and balanced curricullum that confirms each pupils' entitlement to learning.  The curriculum includes all those activities organised deliberately throughout the whole day and night. Outside school hours all our staff, both teaching and care saff, are regarded as 'care workers' and they work in teams to provide a structured programme of activities throughout each 24 hours. We are thus able to offer a 24 hour total curriculum.  In addition we are able to provide an assessment-led personalised curriculum designed to meet the needs of each individual child.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

The overall aim of Underley Garden School is to make a positive difference to the personal, social and learning lives of young people in our care.  A key factor in meeting this aim is giving all young people an equal opportunity to learn and succeed, irrespective of the special educational needs.  We support students with Individual Education Plans (IEP) that enables students to progress.

Sporting Activities

The school is situated in a country estate of 30 acres with extensive playing fields and access to a network of lanes and bridle paths.  Athletic and sporting activities, outdoor pursuits and environmental activities can be followed throughout the year.  Our large sports hall is another facility throughout the day, in the evening and weekends and there is access to a local swimming pool.
