Health and Safety

There is a full time Health and Safety Manager.  The Health & Safety of pupils, staff, visitors and contractors is at the heart of good practice. Every effort is made to ensure that all our facilities and procedures operate at the required levels of safety.  Staff are trained and required to conform to regulations concerning safe practices and the welfare of members of the school community is paramount.

• The school has a Health and Safety Policy as required by law and practice is continually updated.
• Extensive Fire Precautions are in place and an appropriate pattern of Fire Drills is arranged.
• Security and Emergency Procedures are in place and staff are aware of policy and practice.
• Risk Assessment surveys have been completed over a wide range of activties and this list is kept under review.
• The school expects all staff to be trained in the elements of First Aid, and has a school nurse with permanent and well established working relationships with other local medical, dental practices and local hospitals.
