Hall School
Underley Hall (click here to go to website) is a co-educational independent special school for up to 50 young people aged 9 to 16 years who have emotional, social and behavioural difficulties.
Underley Hall School has substantial experience of enabling young people with challenging behaviour to succeed. Founded in 1976, the Hall school provides a modern, high standard of Education and Care. The school is situated in 30 acres of grounds near the market town of Kirkby Lonsdale on the Lancashire/Cumbria border. There is also a permanent camp site on the shores of Lake Windermere which is used by all pupils annually. The Hall School is a Registered Independent Residential Special School for young people with Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties.
It is registered as a Children’s Home and offers up to 52 week placements. The School provides an environment which is comfortable, caring and stimulating with a 24 hour, assessment led curriculum and full and varied activities to meet individual needs. Appropriate staffing levels and living and working in small units provide a high standard of Education and Care. There is an extensive programme of training and development for all staff with the aim of maintaining good professional practice. The young people in the school are able to achieve personal success through a variety of progression routes embracing both academic and vocational pursuits, and a variety of social and recreational activities.
