The 24 hour Curriculum

Our multi-disciplinary approach to assessment, goal setting, programme design and monitoring ensures that each child, within the framework of a broad and balanced curriculum, has a personalised range of activities.  An initial assessment of each young person incorporates an analysis of how the pupil is able to relate to others and take care of his / her personal needs in a group living situation. As a result objectives are then set for these areas of school life. Progress towards these objectives is monitored daily and discussed regularly with the pupil. Overall progress is summarised in termly and annual reports.

During the evenings, weekends and holidays the home provides high quality activities for the young people. They are able to select the activity in which they would like to take part, allowing them to follow their own interests as well as continuing their personal education. This element of the schools services was highlighted as good practice in our last Ofsted inspection:
